Every day at DecksDirect is a whole new adventure, and we couldn't be happier about the crew that we get to experience it with! We're a big group of goofballs who have a passion for two things: building awesome outdoor spaces and having a good time! Sometimes we mix the two together.

Chris
The man behind the movies, Chris is our resident DecksDirect videographer extraordinaire. Full installation videos, hardware spotlights and high-flying drone shots of finished outdoor spaces; if it's deck related, Chris has probably imagined how he would frame his shot around it.
But aside from installing full railing and underdecking systems on the decks in the studio, editing away all day in his office, and going to film on location (He is especially fond of going out in the brisk, Minnesota winters -- invite him over!), Chris delivers his own dash of humor, creativity, and style to the DecksDirect world.
Chris is an avid freestyle skier, seeking out the top powder-covered slopes around the world to ride the rails, see the sights and jump the gravity-defying jumps. As often happens, one passion leads into another, as Chris discovered his love of filming and editing from recording his friends' ski runs.
Need some great recommendations on the best tacos 🌮 in the area? Chris will rank out the top three restaurants in the area based on the criteria of taste, freshness, and atmosphere. On weekends (or the occasional late Friday afternoon), you can surely find Chris savoring a snifter of 10-year-old Scotch Whisky and patiently explaining why some whiskeys have an "e" while others don't. But beyond that occasional glass or a locally-brewed beer, Chris is mostly an iced tea kind of guy.
Chris spends most of his weeknights relaxing at home with his wife and 2 cats, playing intensive tabletop games with friends, and then dozing off comfortably to reruns of Brooklyn 99 or Silicon Valley. That nodding off typically happens around 8:30, 9 o'clock... but we won't mention that. 😄
I asked Chris what he liked most about working at DecksDirect and he replied, "It's rare to work at a place where so many people here are actually my friends. Usually, you work at a place and you go home at the end of the day. But at DecksDirect, you want to hang out and talk with people. Everyone likes everyone else."
