General Shipping Policies

DecksDirect understands how important it is that your order arrives promptly. We are the largest online stocking retailer of deck accessories, so you can trust that most orders placed before 3:30 pm CST will ship the same day! Please view the topics below for specific shipping information.

Except for special order items, most orders placed before 3:30 pm will go out the same day. We do everything we can to ensure quick arrival:

  • If we can’t ship within one day, we’ll let you know via email or phone.

  • We can ship direct to your home, business or job site.

  • Unless specified, we don’t require signature release on deliveries.

Most products ship directly from our warehouses in the Twin Cities with ground delivery times averaging as follows:

  • 1-3 days to the Midwest

  • 3-4 days to the East Coast

  • 4-5 days to the West Coast

Some products ship directly from the manufacturer, and delivery times for those shipments may vary. However, we have high standards for them regarding shipping times and quality control. If they can’t perform to the levels you need, we don't do business with them.

Shipping Destinations

Within the contiguous U.S. - Choose between Ground, 2nd Day Air and Next Day Air.

Alaska and Hawaii - Choose between 2nd Day Air and Next Day Air. Contact us at 1-888-824-5316 to discuss using USPS – depending on the products in your order, this may offer cost-efficiencies for the same delivery timetables.

International - At this time, we do not ship outside of the United States.

Guaranteed in Stock Items

Many of our items are Guaranteed in Stock. These items will ship out the same day if the order is placed before 3:30 pm CST, Monday–Friday. Because we are so confident in our fast shipping, if an item listed as Guaranteed in Stock doesn't ship the same day, we will give you $100*.

Quick Ship Items

Quick Ship items will typically ship out the same day if the order is placed before 3:30 pm CST. Due to unexpected demand, we cannot guarantee these items will ship the same day. If you have a time-sensitive order, don’t hesitate to call us at 1-888-824-5316 for shipping and delivery schedules! We’re happy to figure out the best way to get your order to you on time.

Out of Stock & Special Order Items

The team at DecksDirect.com will contact you if an item is out of stock or special order. Due to availability and vendor issues, we can only estimate shipping times for these products. If you choose to remove the item from your order, we’ll issue a refund consistent with the original method of payment.

*For orders totaling over $100, we will refund $100 to the credit card used at the time of purchase. For orders less than $100, only the order amount will be refunded. When Guaranteed in Stock items are ordered with over-sized items, all items will ship together and this offer does NOT apply.

DecksDirect.com shipping charges are based on standard FedEx or UPS rates (where applicable), according to package weight, size, and distance shipped.

Most items ship via FedEx. When applicable, DecksDirect.com reserves the right to ship items via UPS or USPS. In an effort to get your order out as quickly as possible, we may ship your order directly from the manufacturer. Additionally, small items may be shipped via USPS.

Standard Shipping Methods

Ground Shipping
  • FedEx residential ground delivery rates are based on a Tuesday through Saturday delivery schedule.

  • FedEx/UPS commercial ground and UPS residential ground delivery rates are based on a Monday through Friday delivery schedule.

  • USPS residential and commercial ground delivery rates are based on a Monday through Saturday delivery schedule.

Express Shipping

FedEx and UPS residential/commercial 2nd Day and Next Day delivery rates are based on a Monday through Friday delivery schedule. If your express order requires Saturday Delivery please contact us. Additional charges may apply and some addresses are not available for UPS Saturday Delivery. Orders placed after 3:30pm CST will ship next business day.

We would be happy to arrange for order pickup at our Minneapolis location. Pick-ups can be scheduled Monday-Friday 7am-5pm by calling 1-888-824-5

LTL Freight Shipping

Because some items offered at DecksDirect.com are too large and/or heavy to ship via FedEx or USPS, they are shipped via LTL (Less than Truckload) Delivery.

If you order is being shipped via LTL, you will be contacted to discuss the details before the order ships. If special service are required such as a lift gate or special delivery instructions, it is your responsibility to pay any additional fees or charges. Signatures are required for all LTL shipments.

Shipping Costs

DecksDirect has carefully selected shipping options and prices for each product on our site to ensure you receive the fastest, safest, and most reliable delivery service possible. Each item's delivery options will be noted on its product page, as well as in the shopping cart. In order to keep your costs down and our pricing simple, we either provide free shipping or, in certain cases, charge shipping per item. This charge, if any, is indicated in your shopping cart and covers ground shipping within the contiguous United States. We will never surprise you with any hidden charges or handling fees, the shipping cost you see in the shopping cart is the price you pay.

Free Shipping

We offer Free Ground Shipping* on select balusters, post caps, deck lighting and hardware within the continental U.S.

Most FREE SHIPPING items ship through FedEx ground. When applicable, DecksDirect.com reserves the right to ship items via UPS ground or USPS ground. You can also upgrade to 2 Day and Next Day shipping for an extra charge.

*Minimums may apply, please refer to specific product pages for details. Free shipping is offered within the contiguous 48 states only. Shipments to Hawaii and Alaska addresses are not eligible for free shipping.

All Other Shipping

DecksDirect.com offers FREE ground shipping* on most orders with minimum purchase. If you do not meet the minimum purchase amount the therefor, don’t qualify for free shipping, you can obtain a shipping quote in the shopping cart portion of our website.
