Replace Old Deck Railings - Step by Step

Remove the necessary pieces of your old deck railing. Generally, most wood deck railing systems are attached via structural screws toe-nailed into the deck posts. For these situations, use a drill to power backward and remove the driven screws. With those connectors removed, lift the railing section from its position, and set aside for removal.
