Steps to Clean Century Scenic Glass Railing

1. Clean the Scenic Aluminum Posts

Clean the Scenic aluminum posts of the railing with warm soapy water using a sponge or soft cloth. Do not use any types of abrasive or exfoliating cleaners as they may scratch the railing.

2. Rinse off and Care for Glass Panels

To clear away a light dusting or pollen collection, rinse the glass panels with water from bottom to top and then work the water back down toward the bottom of the panel. This will clean the glass surface while preventing the collection of dirty run-off water and possible streaking. Air dry or wipe dry with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth.

3. Got Stubborn Debris?

If a light cleaning does not remove the stuck-on debris, rinse the surface with clean water from top to bottom. Use a sponge and clean with mild dishsoap such as Dawn® or Joy® and warm water. Immediately rinse away the cleaning solution to prevent streaking or spotting.

Immediately rinse with clean water. It is very important that cleaning solution does not dry on the surface. Air or wipe dry with a soft, dry cloth.

4. Protect the Metal Components

For a protective finish, apply a quality brand of car wax to the aluminum surface of the Century Scenic Posts. For optimal shielding, do not apply the wax to the aluminum surfaces in strong, direct sunlight or in temperatures that are extremely hot or cold.

5. Check All Structural Fasteners

All deck post screws should be checked every year for snugness. If any structural screws require replacing, replace them with appropriate fasteners for a consistent and reliable hold.
